TRIP TO BELGRADE

Join us on a 2-day trip to Belgrade, the capital of Serbia, on the 3rd and 4th of May 2025. A city where history meets modern life, Belgrade offers a mix of cultural heritage, local cuisine, and a lively atmosphere. 🎶 Whether you are drawn to its historical landmarks, scenic rivers, or vibrant streets, this trip promises an engaging experience. ✨

1st DAY (Ljubljana – Belgrade)

We will depart from Ljubljana in the early morning and travel towards Belgrade, making our way through picturesque landscapes before crossing into Serbia. Upon arrival, we will pick up our local guide and head directly to the House of Flowers, the final resting place of Josip Broz Tito, former president of Yugoslavia. This mausoleum is part of the Museum of Yugoslavia and serves as a memorial site dedicated to the history of Yugoslavia and Tito’s legacy. 🚌

After visiting the House of Flowers, we will continue our journey by bus, passing several important landmarks along the way before reaching Avala Hill. Here, we will visit the Avala Tower, a symbol of Serbian resilience and a structure offering panoramic views over Belgrade and the surrounding countryside. The hill is also home to the Monument to the Unknown Hero, a significant memorial dedicated to Serbian soldiers who lost their lives in World War I. 🏛️

Next, we will stop at the Church of Saint Sava, one of the largest Orthodox churches in the world. Its impressive white marble facade and vast interior make it a key spiritual and architectural landmark. ⛪ After this, we will check in at our accommodation in the city center. 🏨

The afternoon is free for you to explore Belgrade at your own pace. We recommend a walk along Knez Mihailova Street, the city’s main pedestrian zone, filled with elegant historical buildings, shops, and cafés. You can also visit local restaurants to try authentic Serbian dishes such as ćevapi, sarma or Karadjordjeva šnicla. For those interested in nightlife, Belgrade is known for its floating river clubs on the Sava and Danube rivers, offering great music and a lively atmosphere. 🎶

2nd DAY (Belgrade – Ljubljana)

In the morning we will take a guided walking tour of the city center and the Kalemegdan Fortress, one of the most important historical sites in Belgrade. Located at the confluence of the Danube and Sava rivers, the fortress offers stunning panoramic views. We will explore its ancient walls, Victor Monument, Zindan Gate, and the historic quarters of Dorćol, one of the oldest parts of the city with traces of Ottoman and Austro-Hungarian influences. 🏰

Following the tour, you will have some free time to experience more of Belgrade’s atmosphere. You can relax in a riverside café, browse local artisan shops, or visit Skadarlija, the old Bohemian quarter, known for its traditional Serbian taverns and cobblestone streets. This is a perfect place to enjoy live traditional music and a warm, welcoming ambiance. 🍷

In the afternoon, we will begin our journey back to Ljubljana, reflecting on the rich experiences and sights we encountered in Belgrade. Join us for a trip to Belgrade and experience its history, culture, and daily life firsthand. 🚍
